Home Efficiency Rebates: What It Is and How It Works
Efficiency Arizona is an incentive program run by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Resiliency through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Home Energy Rebates programs. It’s designed to help Arizona residents save money and energy.
There are two separate Home Efficiency rebate programs:
- The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) program
- The Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES) program
The HEAR program provides rebates for eligible electric appliances and equipment as well as energy-saving upgrades. A single household can receive a total maximum of $14,000 in rebates.
The HOMES program, which is expected to launch soon, will offer rebates for comprehensive home retrofit work, with the total rebate amount determined by the level of energy savings achieved (the more energy you save, the higher the rebate).
You must work with a qualifying contractor to be eligible for rebates in either program. Lucky for you, Air Control Home Services was one of the first contractors in the state to be approved!
Home Efficiency Rebates Available Right Now

(*Note: Homes with existing heat pumps are not eligible.)

Income Qualifications for HEAR Rebates
HEAR rebates are only available to income-eligible households. They cover up to 100% of project costs for households with an income below 80% AMI (Area Median Income) and 50% of project costs for households with incomes between 80% and 150% AMI.
In Mohave County, which is the majority of our service area:
- 80% of AMI is $56,500 for a family of four
- 100% of AMI is $70,625 for a family of four
- 150% of AMI (the cutoff for HEAR rebates) is $105,938 for a family of four
