Do you feel like your home isn’t as cool as it should be, no matter how much you adjust the thermostat? Or, maybe you have an older unit that you feel might be starting to give out. In either case, you should learn to recognize the signs that your AC is breaking down, so you can develop a plan of action.
Here are 4 big signs that your AC is breaking down:
#1. There’s a lack of airflow
One of the most common AC problems is a unit that sounds like it works, but there’s no air coming from your vents. When this happens, it might be that your compressor has started to give out. Or, the issue might be with your ductwork.
Give Air Control a call for emergency AC repair if this is the case. We’ll inspect your system and determine what needs to be done to get your home cool again.
#2. No cool air is coming from your vents
Another one of the signs that your AC is breaking down is having proper airflow from your unit, but the air you’re feeling just isn’t as cool as it usually is. Again, the problem might be with your compressor, but it could also be that you need more freon in your unit.
Talk with an HVAC professional at Air Control to understand just what’s going on and what your options are.
#3. Your home takes a while to cool down
Where before your home cooled down in a matter of minutes, it might now take longer before you’re comfortable. It could be that more coolant is needed to get things up and running faster, or that another repair is needed.
#4. Your AC unit has moisture issues
Have you noticed moisture or leaking around your outside unit? That might be refrigerant leaking out of your unit. Alternatively, the problem might just be with your drain tube, which isn’t as major, but is still something that needs to be cleared up ASAP to keep other problems, such as mildew and mold, from occurring.
