CAN I COMBINE A DUCTLESS SYSTEM WITH A NORMAL HVAC SYSTEM?
Yes. If you have a standard HVAC system and ductwork, you can add a ductless system to either add extra cooling and heating to rooms or to provide comfort to home additions that lack ductwork, including work areas and garages. Alternately, you can replace your HVAC system with a ductless setup.
HOW DOES A DUCTLESS SYSTEM WORK?
Ductless systems consist of indoor units connected to an outdoor unit. The outdoor unit is linked to its indoor counterparts, and has a refrigerant line that runs to the inside. The indoor systems are wall-mounted near the ceiling and control the temperature of the air inside your home.
WHAT IS A MINI-SPLIT, AND HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM MULTI-SPLIT?
A mini-split system contains an outdoor and indoor unit in a 1:1 ratio, while a multi-split allows up to 5 indoor systems to connect to a single outdoor system. Mini-split is great for bringing comfort to a home addition, while mini-split conditions all the air in your home in multiple rooms.
WHY ARE DUCTLESS SYSTEMS SO POPULAR?
The hot summer climate in western Arizona and Mohave County makes ductless systems a great choice because they have both cooling and heating included, and they’re more energy efficient than standard air conditioners. That’s why we’re the nation’s top Trane ductless system installer.
